Carolina Stars Welcome New Coach

Charlotte, NC, September 4, 2024 – The Carolina Stars are thrilled to announce the newest addition to our coaching staff, Vivian Velazquez (a.k.a. "Coach Viv"), who joins us as an Assistant Coach. Through her many years of experience as both a player and a coach, she brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to our team. "I am excited to join this incredible organization and have the opportunity to coach alongside a fellow player and friend - it is truly special. I can't wait to work with the amazing talent that makes up the Carolina Stars. Together, we're going to achieve great things and take this team to the next level," said Velazquez.

Coach Viv has a proven track record of success, having played 12 seasons with the NY Sharks in the offensive line, defensive line, linebacker, fullback and running back positions - in addition to coaching 4 seasons with the NY Wolves and 3 years with American Football Events (AFE) USA All-Stars. Her dedication to developing players and fostering a winning culture aligns perfectly with the values of the Carolina Stars.

I learned quite a bit from her in our time together on the field. Her expertise and enthusiasm will be invaluable as work to build a championship-caliber team, and I'm excited for us to continue to learn from each other, our players and other members of the coaching staff.”
